Wrap to reassure. This is the idea at the base of the project “TARTAN”. Reflecting about the figure of the homeless, we tried to create an object that, initially conceived as a simple shelter for the cold winter nights, becomes, proceeding with the planning, an expedient to instill a feeling of safety and warmth to those who live in a tough reality like the streets. We did not just create something practical, useful and functional; we tried to go deeper, to empathize with those people, understanding their psychology, the emotions and the fears caused by the hardships of life. Conceived as a shelter from the cold, TARTAN aspires to become a proper protective shell, able to convey, ideally, that warmth that everyone needs on order to carry on day by day. That embrace that reassures, and instills comfort, hope and desire to succeed.
